Dennis Keller understands claim settlements from a worker’s perspective. He is the only structured settlement professional in the industry who has actually worked as a brakeman, switchman, claims agent, and claims manager for a major national railroad.
This is relevant because the railroad industry gave Dennis his start in the settlement business and remains a vital part of his business. Railroad workers live in a close, tight community, somewhat unique in America today. They work hard and long and Dennis has a firsthand understanding of the risks associated with what they do. He has earned the trust and respect of injured workers and has been able to craft settlements that truly take care of the workers and their families for decades to come.
Not insignificant to his success has been his side career as a radio broadcaster, commentator, announcer, and producer at stations in Austin, Chicago, and Oregon. Productive negotiations are largely the product of effective communication, and Dennis’s skills are a proven benefit to his clients.
Having shifted his career track to structured settlements more than 25 years ago, Dennis is a veteran professional who can be relied upon to meet anytime, anywhere with clients who need his help.

Bobby Waters’ easy manner and friendly southern charm is a welcome presence at settlement conferences and meditations across the mid-Atlantic and central United States. Long known to judges, mediators, and long-time practitioners, Bobby is a skilled veteran who understands settlement dynamics as only the truly experienced expert can.
Indeed, few in our industry can match Bobby’s natural ability to ease tensions and to keep the parties focused on what matters most. Equally comfortable at the negotiating table or a claimant’s kitchen table, Bobby has been helping clients for over two decades. He has consistently delivered results that justify their faith.
While not all negotiations are pleasant or fun, Bobby unfailingly lightens the gloom, easing the way for all in attendance. Bobby’s secret? He genuinely enjoys the work. “How many other professions put you in position to help, truly help people who’s lives were profoundly affected by a moment’s chance?” Bobby asks. “I get to do that every day.”
And indeed he does.

Brad’s entrée to structured settlements came naturally through his founding and management of two mediation firms: Perry, Watts and Associates, and the Association of Professional Arbitrators & Mediators.
In the mediation world, neutrality and a reputation for fair dealing are an absolute must. Brad is accustomed to working closely with all parties to the negotiations: plaintiff attorneys, defense attorneys, injured claimants, casualty insurance companies and self-insured entities. The mediators themselves, often retired Judges, relied on Brad for smooth administration and a steady presence.
Having seen how structured settlements can help resolve complex cases in the mediation setting, Brad was intrigued by these specialized transactions. Further dialogue with friends in the legal community revealed structures to be an excellent fit for Brad’s skill set, personality, and professional goals, and he has committed himself to this work with his customary dedication and energy.
JMW is pleased to offer a professional of Brad’s caliber to the legal community in the Gulf Coast Region.

Dick King is one of the pioneers in structured settlements in the Gulf Coast area. A Louisiana native , Dick accepted a position with the Humble Oil Company (now Exxon) in New Orleans before moving into private practice specializing in estate and employee benefits planning.
Always keenly interested in better ways of doing things, Dick was intrigued by the structured settlement concept and uniquely well positioned to spread the initial word about structures to attorneys on both sides of the aisle. Instrumental in persuading the Office of Risk Management for the State of Louisiana to adopt structures for the benefit of their claimants, Dick went on to develop a strong business in the energy and maritime sectors as well.
Associated with JMW for over 20 years, Dick’s sense of humor and unfailing graciousness to his work, which has made him a distinct favorite of both clients and staff.

Tim is a fourth-generation Wyoming native who began his working career as a real estate broker and professional auctioneer before transitioning to the life insurance and financial planning fields in 1988. He has spent the last 28 years helping clients anticipate and intelligently plan for the dilemmas of life that surprise us – dying too soon, living too long, or becoming too sick or disabled to earn a living and function productively.
This gives Tim keen insight into the needs of injured claimants who may or may not have had the benefit of such planning before life took such a sudden, life-altering turn. While he appreciates the difficulty of bringing opposing parties together and resolving conflict, Tim also knows that situations like this create extraordinary opportunities to rebuild essential elements of a person’s financial future, if just a little time is taken to consider them before final terms of a settlement are set in stone.
Over 41 years, Tim has fine-tuned his ability to identify and ask the key questions required to understand the underlying concerns of adversaries. Favorable tax rulings and specialized settlement tools create unique advantages in the settlement environment – but only if a professional settlement planner is present to spot them. Tim is pleased to help identify these opportunities and craft a beneficial and durable resolution of the case.

Frank Kilcoyne combines a quarter century of experience with savvy “street smarts” to ensure that his clients’ interests are always fully met. After gaining technical, legal, and frontline experience with The Travelers insurance company directly out of college, Frank elected to specialize in structured settlements in 1987 by designing, launching, and managing Utica National’s first national structured settlement program. Fully versed in the intricacies of both claims and structures, Frank decided to develop his own practice with JMW in 1996, and has never looked back.
Frank quickly developed a well-diversified clientele whose various sub-specialties have only further refined his skills. One of the first to accurately sort out New York state’s Article 50A and 50B, Frank is equally at home crafting periodic payments for life care plans and optimizing structured settlements with special needs trusts. Recently, Frank has been a leader in making “balanced” settlement plans (addressing the needed balance between a guaranteed-fixed return and a market return), a critical consideration for claimants with long-term income needs.
Finally — and most importantly — Frank learned long ago that there’s a right and a wrong way to settle cases and there’s no room for shortcuts; this year’s “clever trick” invariably becomes next year’s “Frankencase”. Prudent clients repeatedly rely on Frank C. Kilcoyne for a clean and correct result.
